Jennifer Lawrence was on Medium. She guest-starred in two different episodes of the show, “Mother’s Little Helper” and “But for the Grace of God,” and had a different role in each appearance.

Medium Guest Star
Fans of both the supernatural drama series Medium and the beloved actress Jennifer Lawrence are excited to find out that she guest-starred on Medium for a short time near the beginning of her career. As this fan tweeted, “JENNIFER LAWRENCE IS ON MY FAVORITE SHOW I REPEAT JENNIFER LAWRENCE IS ON MEDIUM.”
Other fans have tweeted pictures of her from her time on the show in posts like this one, featuring Lawrence with classic 80s hair from the second episode she worked on, where she played a young version of the main character, Allison DuBois.
That episode was Season 4, Episode 2, titled, “But for the Grace of God,” which was released in 2008. In it, Allison’s oldest daughter, Ariel DuBois, has a vision in her dream, where she hangs out with a young version of her mother, played by Lawrence.
The year before, Lawrence had also appeared in another episode of Medium. She was in Season 3 Episode 7’s “Mother’s Little Helper,” where she plays Claire, a blood-covered ghost that haunts Ariel until she can solve her murder.

Early Career
Lawrence knew she wanted to be an actress very early on in her life, dropping out of school at 14 years old to pursue an acting career in New York and eventually Los Angeles. Her very first acting job was a series of promotional ads for My Super Sweet Sixteen, an MTV reality series, where she played Lisa, the birthday girl.
In 2006, she landed a small role in the television movie Company Town, which didn’t end up being aired. In the same year, she got a role in an episode of Monk before her time on Medium.
From there, she was cast on The Bill Engvall Show, where she played Lauren Pearson, the eldest, rebellious daughter and troublemaker of the family. The show ran for three years starting in 2007.
“The Bill Engvall Show, I’m so grateful for it. I had so much fun on that show, and we all became like family. It funded my indie career, so I could do the movies that I want,” Lawrence said in an interview from 2012.
Bill Engvall said in an interview that he knew it was only a matter of time before Lawrence was recognized for her acting talent. “Of my favorite scenes that I did on that show, one of them was with Jennifer. I go back and watch it every once in a while… We had a scene where she was mad at me and I had to go in and apologize to her.”
“We had that nice dad-daughter moment. I remember [thinking], ‘This girl’s good.’ She’s got it, she’s got what it takes. I think she’ll be holding that statuette before she’s done,” Engvall explained.
While on the show, she got her first film lead role in the 2008 movie The Poker House, for which she won Best Performance at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Her breakthrough role, though, was Winter’s Bone.
Lawrence played Ree Dolly in the mystery drama film, which resulted in her getting an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Lawrence’s career took off from there, with her joining popular franchises such as Marvel’sX-Men and The Hunger Games.
