anonymous Jun 6th 2015 !⃝Methamphetamine addiction is what I see as a central theme. Glass, slang for crystal meth, is smoked out of a glass piece, which "through the glass" I feel wild symbolize seeing life behind a pipe, behind the mental destruction meth causes.
I have been a meth addict for 8 years, and this song just hits me so deep on an emotional level.
Addicts become reclusive over time and before you know it, you have no real friends, no close bonds with family, and basically you are alone with your drug, time passing by and you are stuck. Stuck with a dependance on something that thrives off the destruction it creates.
Meth specifically , causes symtoms that are exactly the same as mental illnesses. whether its ocd, schizophrenia, bipolar, manic depression, anxiety attacks, paranoia induced pyschosis, hallucinations, auditory and visual, delusions.....ect
sexual encounter is mentioned as weell, and if you didnt know, meth makes sexual desire obsessivly sought after, porn or sex, anything to satisfy. Often relationships with meth users, is sexual only. Meth sex isnt about love, its the physical act of pleasure.
I know this song is probably about what it seems, hollywood. But great songs dont have just one side. Everyone hears it different.
