Sean Strickland has already proven he’s not your typical UFC champion.

During his short reign as middleweight king, he has broken his belt, shown off his wall of guns, and been caught on camera chasing someone with a flamethrower.

Now the man who easily outpointed Israel Adesanya to score one of the biggest upsets in UFC history last month has revealed why he won’t invest his newfound riches in luxury cars.

Conor McGregor is the biggest star in MMA history and entertains millions of people on social media by flaunting the life of luxury he’s acquired from his hard work over the course of his career.

Strickland is still driving a ‘s***ty Hyundai’ and has no plans to upgrade because he doesn’t want people to see his life and feel bad about their own.

“The reason why I drive a s***ty Hyundai is one I’m cheap, very cheap. But the entire world makes you feel inadequate,” he said on his YouTube channel.

“Everything we do from what you wear to what you drive. You are born living in the f***ing a commercial. When you’re a little infant and you’re watching TV, you are born looking at Audi and Mercedes commercials.

“We are creating a generation of boys who judge their character by what they drive and what they wear. Unless someone wants to give me a car for free, I’m not doing it.

"I don’t want to participate in making people feel like you are not enough. If you work an 8-hour job… I think that the value of you is by how you act, by the kind of father you are.

“As long as I’m a f***ing champion you guys, enjoy your old f***ing Crocs, enjoy your old beat-up f***ing Honda Civics, man."

Strickland revealed he has used his UFC championship money to buy a $500 trailer and a dingy ‘for lobster season’.

It appears he’ll be just fine financially until UFC CEO Dana White gives him a call and tells him to get back in the gym to prepare for his first title defence.

A rematch with Adesanya seems likely for 2024, but Strickland could also be matched up with Dricus du Plessis, Jared Cannonier, or Robert Whittaker.
