“Nems is a battle-tested street legend in New York City with a devoted fanbase that he built from scratch,” Rosenberg said about the alliance. “Same for his brands. He’s got incredible intuition and of course unbelievable talent. He did it his way and totally on his own so far. I’m thrilled to be able to work with him to bring his music to the world with Goliath Records and Virgin Music.”
Nems also shared his thoughts, saying: “Salute to GOLIATH and Paul Rosenberg for seeing the vision and believing in the LYFERS. Don’t ever disrespect me and think this shit happened overnight. We don’t throw parties to celebrate shit that ain’t happen yet. We OUTSIDE. RISE OF THE SILVERBACK. AUGUST 18th. BING FUCKING BONG.”
Nems has been making the most of his second lease on life. His recent rise to fame has played a major role in his redemption from a past he’s left far behind, and he has been accelerating ever since.
“There was a point when I was the grimiest person in New York City,” he told HipHopDX in an interview last year. “It was really fuck your life, but all that shit leads to nothing.”

During some of his wilder years, the self-proclaimed Mayor of Coney Island ended up doing a bid inside NYC’s most notorious prison Rikers Island. But that life of crime has now been buried in his past and he hasn’t looked back since.
Whether you’ve heard of him through the viral catchphrase “Bing Bong,” a saying he coined that was co-opted as a rallying cry by the New York Knicks last year; his hilarious Don’t Ever Disrespect Me series, where he takes over the streets of Coney Island with Sidetalk; or because you’re a fan of his gritty rhymes, Nems doesn’t care how he got your attention so long as he can keep holding it.
