I had to look up the Barbie thing. It's clear that he gave up a spot as one of the Kens. Not a huge role, by his own admission, nor something hat would pay off his house, but a great opportunity none the less. Barbie wasn't even paying out the nose for their cast. It had funding problems which is why they added a Birkenstock and Chevy commercial into the movie.
Since it was a huge hit. I'm sue Luke and his agent are pissed they had to passed it up due to timing. Just the red carpet PR would have given him a much needed boost. All well, we still love you Luke!
