As hip-hop fans know, Pop Smoke, who came from Canarsie, exploded on to the New York hip-hop scene with the release of his record in 2019, Meet The Woo. The release featured songs like “Welcome To The Party” and “Dior.”

Reportedly, Pop Smoke’s estate and record label just released a posthumous album this year, Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. Pop Smoke’s death came as a massive shock to many in the black community and the hip-hop scene.

Stars such as 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj addressed his death on social media by claiming his attackers’ motif was jealous and resentment. Since then, the rap scene has lost another rising star due to gun violence, the 21-year-old Canadian, Houdini.

The Toronto police confirmed that Houdini was shot and killed in the entertainment industry of Toronto in broad daylight. The authorities said at a press conference that his death was “unacceptable.”
